Even before I begin, I can easily say that doomsday has arrived. The more we think about how an Indian TV show can par the levels of ‘copying’ and being preposterous with the content being presented to us, it just keeps getting worse.
How amazingly do the makers of the show tag it to be an ‘inspiration’ and make a mockery of the original! Recently, we posted about how the show, ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ did the unthinkable and literally copied ‘Game Of Thrones’ promo for one of their promos.
So, ladies and gentleman, catastrophe has struck us once again with the attackers being the same. The makers of the show, ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ are all set to present us a track featuring a ‘makkhi’ (fly). As much as I hate to say this, but yes, you read that right and I am not kidding!
Yes, your beloved Simar (Dipika Kakar) has now turned into a makkhi.
The promo begins with Simar holding a flaming torch in a hell-like surrounding (that’s what the viewers feel after watching the same) leaving her perplexed about where to go. In a fraction of a second, Superwoman Simar uses her muscular prowess and bangs the torch into a stone-made sculpture, which apparently disturbs an infinitely white, and covered in dust ‘baba’ (saint). In the most clichéd way possible, the baba curses Simar, ‘Madam, you have been an interruption in my austerity, so I curse you.’
You must have already guessed what the curse is by now… Boom! In a circular camera roll, Simar is soon turned into a makkhi and starts flying away. However, that’s not the end. Of course, the beloved and supporting family members are worried about Simar, wondering where the hell is she? And, in a magical way, the door automatically opens up for the makkhi to enter into the house. (Yes, no one manually opened the door) The makkhi makes her way towards Mataji (Jayati Bhatia), while she shoos her away, not realizing that it is Simar. Simar (who is now a makkhi) just gives us a verbal confirmation, ‘Guys, you may not recognize me now, but I am Simar, bro’.
Before the verdict, here is a special guide for everyone. The ‘significant’ stages of Simar turning into a makkhi
How on earth can I even give a verdict to this? The promo is a reminder that the show will keep presenting us ludicrous and ridiculous content until the viewers continue to watch it. Even if one tries to somehow watch it as a cartoon, where logic isn’t really needed, they cannot do that. Because, they keep reminding us, ‘ahm, hello, we are ‘real’ characters’. From what commenced as a journey about a sweet girl and her crushed aspirations has now become a mockery which keeps searching new ways to torture the logical minds.
Thank You ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ for giving us a reason to keep wondering “What the hell is going on?!”
